Pointer takes top honor in National Dog Show
Here’s a look at the best in show competition at the National Dog Show, presented by Purina, and held over the holidays in Reading, Pa.
There were 1,505 dogs — 150 breeds — entered, and best in show went to Holly, an English pointer.
My votes for best supporting characters go to the Lhasa Apso who stopped in mid-strut to bring a little reality to the event, and to the johnny-on-the-spot staff member who, though the cameras didn’t catch the clean-up, was introduced by the announcer as “Peter Green, sanitary engineer.”

Mary, We try to show the proper respect for dog shows, especially in the girly dog categories. Woops, I meant toy. Actually I stopped watching closely after that lady kept picking her dog up by its tail, thereby missing what was clearly such a big part (for such a little dog) of the story. I’ll update the post at once, because, here at ohmidog!, we always try to bring you the latest poop.

What?!!! No comments about the little Pekingese, whose handler should have offered the dog more poop walks (what Amie and I call the act) or fewer treat bribes?
