Baltimore's men and women in blue took a bit of a turn around the lake at the Walk for the Animals today. It's funny. I usually feel good, or at least neutral, when police officers are in the vicinity. Today, I felt like either brandishing Spencer's leash (which was firmly in my hand) or saying something snotty like, "Finding any thousand-dollar violations out there, Officers?" I refrained. Hah. The words would make nice names for dogs, though. (I just finished reading "The Story of Edgar Sawtelle" and enjoyed the ideas in the novel about naming dogs.) Sounds like a fun and useful time in the park, and I'm glad the police officer was one of the sane ones. Seems like there'd be fewer drug deals and tricks (illegal ones) in the park if there were more people about with their free range dogs. What is the fine for those found littering condoms, drug baggies, beer cans or diapers, etc. ? To secure your pants next time you forget your belt try rolling up the waist a few times.
