What do they teach in schools? Prosecute them as adults and after they spend time in jail make them work in a shelter for a year on probation.

Whoever did this should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. This is torture to a creature that feels pain and those who can do such a thing should not be allowed to do it again.

This is the saddest thing I have heard in a long time. In my family and with so many of our friends, we value the lives of animals sometimes above human beings. A pet in our family would be the apple of our eye. You’re right – violence upon animals usually means violence against other human beings.
I repeat, may the perpetrators feel every iota of pain and suffering Phoenix would have felt… they need to be put down too, to rid the society of such cruelty!

Thank you God for taking the pain away from this innocent little life. Nothing on earth should experience that incredible level of abuse and pure evil. Let’s focus on the good that was brought to those who were touched by her story.

I hope they find the person(s) that committed this horrible inhumane act. I wish we could inflict the same fate on the perp that they dealt to this poor dog.

I guess if the dog’s problems where too extensive one could argue that she’s are going to die anyways and decide to put her down, but if she was walking in the door with her tail wagging, seems to me she still has an attitude to live and enjoy life. I think she should be given a chance to live those last moments, even if she’s going to die soon, she still has some last moments she was enjoying and could have had.

Dog owners seem to be killing their dogs before their where supposed to die somethimes.

I’m just so sorry to hear this. She deserved to live, and that right was taken away from her by the criminals who did this to her. We should all thank BARCS, Main Line Animal Rescue, and all the people who did everything they could to give her a chance. I hope she will live on in our minds and hearts and strengthen our resolve to put an end to the brutality.

This breaks my heart. I have always thought that the abuse and disrespect of animals is directly linked to the violence that surrounds us. It can never be tolerated or justified and must be rigorously prosecuted. Thanks for selling OMD’s “Os” to try to help Phoenix. Rest in Peace, sweet girl.
