I am waiting for him and his friends at the HSUS to go on “tour” with a slideshow of brutalized and disfigured dogs, or shaking, cowering and shocked pups, or young female dogs strapped tightly to “rape posts,” or videos of dogs being electrocuted, stabbed, hung or drowned, all to the smiles of Vick and his pals. That’s the reality here, and I fear that this place and this man were much worse than anything ever revealed in the press. Surprised and sorry that he got caught?? He would STILL be doing this if not caught! Until he shows what his demented violence created, there is unfortunately a growing segment of all ages and demographics who are coming to idolize this man. (Hmm…did someone just whisper “Susan Reimer”?)

Regrettably Anne ‘n Spencer we became such a violent society long ago that other countries’ people frequently describe us as “violent Americans.” I have a relative living in UK for the last 25 years and this is one of the first as well as ongoing criticism of Americans she reports back about how the world views our society. I’ve gotten so “exercised” about this problem that I have a unbendable rule in my house that prohibits watching any TV violence whatsoever – no, not even on the news. You would not believe the flack I’ve gotten for this rule.

Ahh. The word “wrong” has finally been uttered. And mention has been made of the animals.

Has anybody noticed these two seemingly-unrelated events in Chicago:
1) A dog-fighting operation being run in the same property as a day care center, with the blood-soaked, syringe-littered garage just a few steps away from the swing set. One of those arrested has a video on his cell phone of a dog being soaked with gasoline and burned to death. He asserts that one of the rescued puppies–covered with puncture wounds and missing an eye–got that way because “a door fell on him.”
2) Also in Chicago, a sixteen year old young man, the apple of his family’s eye, an honor student, is set upon by five people his age, and beaten to death with a railroad tie. The entire incident, including his terrible final moments, is caught on video for posterity.

Cruelty begets more cruelty, and I think we are in danger of becoming a cruel society.

That’s my big problem with his so-called “redemption” tour. It seems to be a lot more about how bad it was that he got caught and not how bad it was that he did the things he did.

I am NOT buying this whatever it is he thinks he is selling. From what I can see it’s just crocodile tears and he’s very very very sorry he got caught.

And I’m not convinced it was about money. To the people who are involved in any kind of animal fighting and abuse it speaks of a darker part of what little character they possess. I don’t know what to call it other than an addiction to evil.
