Michael Vick says he would like a dog

Michael Vick told a gathering  of children in New Jersey that he would like to have a dog.

“I wish I could have a dog right now more than anything in the world,”  the convicted dogfighter and Philadelphia Eagles quarterback told  children at the Boys and Girls Club of Newark.

A federal court judge banned Vick from owning dogs.

Vick’s appearance, according to NBC News in New York, was about the sixth he’s made with the Humane Society of the United States since his release from prison and house arrest in July.

“Everything you read and everything you heard was true — except for the electrocution,” he said, denying the widely repeated accusation that he electrocuted dogs that didn’t perform well as fighters. “That never happened.”

Vick said he’s hopeful he’ll have a dog again one day. “I don’t know when that day is going to come.  It’s up to my judge at his discretion,” he said.

When asked by one of the children why he participated in dog fighting, Vick responded: ”I don’t understand why to this day.” But he told them, “use me as an example for you not to do the things that would lead you down the wrong path.”

Michael ConVick just doesn’t get it. Own a dog? He has got to be a total moron. And his “speaking engagements” are nothing more than his high priced PR team trying to improve his image.

Can’t he just shut up and go away? Yeah, he’s sorry for his psychopathic “what-was-I-thinking” actions, and now in short time he has resumed making millions, booking speaking engagements, acting the celeb to the max. GREAT role model for the kids. Can’t hardly wait for them to follow in his footsteps….There are no long term drawbacks to heinous, self-gratifying abuse if one panders enough to the public and if enough CEOs allow and encourage it. I will just never forgive this guy and what he did and STILL would be doing had he not been caught.

As a APBT owner, of course i hate dog fighters…and Mike Vick was an easy target. But i do believe he should be allowed to have another dog. You can almost promise that whatever dog he gets will be the most spoiled and pampered dog in history…because EVERYONE will be watching every move he makes with that dog.

Vick is a thug and the people who defend him are mentally ill. The fact that he still has his “supporters” just floors me. Its incredible how many people (most of them, seemingly from the “inner city”) still indulge this man’s idiocy. Harming defenseless animals is about as sick as it gets. The fact he’s still making millions is digusting.
