I have just read the book about some of Vick’s abused dogs and how they have been rehomed – the book reduced me to tears many times for the terrible plight of these poor dogs. Courage, huh, what is this world coming to?

does no one believe in the criminal justice system anymore? the point of the system is REHABILITATION. Is this not a perfect example of the system actually working? How many convicts get out of prison and are not able to function in the real world again? Michael Vick is, in my mind, the best example of the American Dream that i can remember. No doubt, what he did was horrifying and absolutely wrong; but he has shown through rehabilitation and resiliency that he has become a better human being. This one of the best come back stories i can remember and all who wish him to fail should be ashamed of themselves. The man is an inspiration to all of us. I know i’ll never convince most of you to see this the way i do, but i respect the hell out of this man. Well done, michael.

Michael i love you and i hope you beat out that pussy Kevin Kolb, the eagles will be shit this year with Kevin as the quarterback. And to the people down playing this man, everyone in life deserves a second chance. Didn’t Jesus himself say if you are without sin, cast the first stone? So i’m taking it here, everyone that has said something mean against this guy is without sin? Look at yourselves and ask yourself a question am i guilty in someway like Michael it might not be dog fighting but have i done something for me to get the same criticism?? How does a man who tortures animals get an award for courage. For his prowess with a football? This award was named after a man who fought for abused children. What would he say if he knew someone who had cruely tortured animals, murdered them, and made profit from their pain was being given this award? An award w/ his name attached to it. I think it is a disgrace and an insult to the man the award was named for. Michael Vick is a cold hearted abusive man. Anyone who abuses animals at all let alone to the extent he did I would be willing to wager has issues w/ anger control and is abusive toward anything or anyone he can control including children. I am appalled that this is being done. As should anyone with anyone with a conscience. All you people out there who think what Michael Vick did was simply a mistake. You are delusional. Now if he had donated money to an animal shelter and maybe worked to find homes abused animals. Had he sincerely tried to learn from his “mistake” okay. He didn’t he did his short stay in a federal prison, cake walk. He has not made any attempt to help these animals like the ones he cold bloodedly murdered. The bitch he drowned with his bare hands because she lost him money by losing a fight. And you idiots think he deserves an award?
To Jake whoever you are nobody called for him to be executed. Just not to be allowed to EVER play professional sports again and to have to do work at an animal shelter being constantly supervised. So all of you who really think he deserves this award, you are the psychos.

Have you ever heard of “the link” (http://www.americanhumane.org/about-us/newsroom/fact-sheets/understanding-the-link.html)? It’s been a proven fact that those that are okay with torturing and killing animals are the same people abusing spouses and children! And Michael Vick did not endure anything that he didn’t deserve when he CHOSE to do what he did to all those animals, so I see no reason for him to receive this award.

Damn People! I thought here in America, if you commit a crime, are convicted, go to prison and serve your time, you are suppose to get a fresh start when you come out?!?! Have you every heard the old saying, “He paid his dues to society.?” I’ve raised dogs my whole life, pitbulls as a matter of fact, and I do not condone Michael’s actions. But, you people act like he murdered humans! People today forget that their pet is not REALLY their “baby”. IT’S A DOG!!!!!!! No matter how many little outfits you dress it up in, or much you hug it, kiss it, carry it around in your purse, or how much you let it lick you in the mouth, it’s still A DOG!!!!!!! When “FiFi” or “Rover” dies, we eventual go out a get another one to replace them. We don’t try to obtain a replacement for Mom or Dad when they kick the bucket…that’s the difference in being a human being and a family “pet.” So, get over it people! Yes, he did wrong. Yes he served his time.
No, your “baby” doesn’t look cute in that ugly sweater. And yes, “IT” is still a “DOG!!!!!”
