Playgirl asks Vick to pose, for benefit of PETA
Convicted dogfighter and Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick has been invited to pose for Playgirl, and the magazine says it will donate $1 million to PETA if he accepts.
“I sent the request to Michael Vick on Wednesday,” Daniel Nardicio, Playgirl rep told Life & Style Weekly. “But we haven’t heard back yet … I figured he paid back society for dog fighting, but what about the animals? This way he could donate a large sum to PETA and all he’d have to do is pose for the magazine.”
Why the magazine would choose PETA as the beneficiary, as opposed to any of the organizations that actually took in the surviving dogs from the quarterback’s dogfighting operation, is a mystery. Maybe it figured that would make their gimmicky offer even more controversial and rake in more publicity.
In which case, ’nuff said.
