Dog found hung in Philadelphia

Pennsylvania SPCA Humane Law Enforcement officers are investigating the death of a dog that was found hanging in a tree in the Bridesburg section of Philadelphia.

The dog, whose breed was undetermined, was found by a man walking his dog in a wooded area near the Delaware River Wednesday evening.

“It appears the dog has been hanging there, in my estimation, for a couple of days in the heat. It is starting to decompose,” SCPA Humane officer George Bengal told WPVI, the ABC affiliate in Philadelphia.

The dog also had a stick shoved down its throat.

The area where the dog was found is a popular hangout for teens.

A Prank? Seriously dude? Nothing funny about an animal being tortured & hung. Whether it be by kids or adults…NOT a Prank! Animal Cruelty laws Must Be made Harsher! RIP doggie…I’m sorry they were so cruel to you.

Agree Starla – not funny at all, though I doubt that the officer meant to imply that it was.

They found another dog hung in a public playground in Philly last year. That one was a Pittie, and it was hung just far enough above the ground that it would struggle (and fail) to get its back feet on the ground.
Sick, sick individuals.
The minimum sentence for this kind of abject cruelty should be 10 years – no parole, no more pets ever. Period. There should also be a nationwide database of these clowns – accessible to the public on-line.

There’s a special ring of hell set aside just for folks who do things like that.

Serial killers in training. One thing they all have in common? Animal abuse. Even for those who don’t think that torturing a dog to death is that serious, I find it horrible, you’d think police would be interested in catching these monsters before they work up to humans.
