Under siege: Steven Seagal-led raid kills dog

Say you’re sitting home minding your own business when Steven Seagal comes crashing through your front gate.

In a tank.

That’s what happened to an Arizona man who plans to file a lawsuit against the actor and the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office for killing his dog during a police raid, TMZ reports.

The action film star was participating in the raid earlier this year as part of his new reality show, “Steven Seagal Lawman,” having secured permission from Arizona’s infamous sheriff Joe Arpaio — no slouch himself when it comes to macho-fueled overkill.

Jesus Sanchez Llovera has served notice of his intention to sue to Seagal and Arpaio.

He says Seagal and the sheriff’s department raided his home suspecting to find an illegal cockfighting farm.

Llovera says he raises roosters only for show.

Llovera says Seagal arrived at his home on March 9 with a tank, and rammed through the gate on his property. The tank was followed by officers dressed in riot gear.

He says his 11-month old puppy was shot and killed during the raid, that his home sustained “substantial damage,” and that — between the tank and the storm troopers — more than 100 of his roosters were killed.

Llovera’s lawyer says his client wants $100,000 for the damage and an apology form Seagal about the death of his family’s puppy.

Arizona? Let’s see. State legislator points loaded gun at news reporter. Crazy man is unable to buy huge magazine full of bullets at one Wal-Mart, so he goes to another Wal-Mart, buys the bullets, and uses them to shoot up a political gathering, killing several people (one a small child) and grievously wounding a United States Representative. Cowboy Joe Arpaio houses prisoners unprotected in the desert and feeds them on 49 cents a day. Qualified teachers with advanced degrees are fired because they don’t sound American. Cops can stop you if you don’t look American. (What does an American look like, anyway?)

Good old Arizona, where the entire United States Constitution is in the toilet with the exception of the Second Amendment, which is enshrined in the hearts and minds of all the white people.

It would take another post as long as the one you’ve written to enumerate all the ways that this man’s rights under the Constitution were violated. It’s interesting that his name doesn’t sound American. As for whether he was running cockfights or not, we’ll never know now. People do breed and exhibit all kinds of fancy birds in shows, just as they do dogs. Properly trained police executing a proper search warrant might have been able to determine this–if they had enough probable cause to get a proper search warrant.

Sounds like another run of the mill day for Arpaio, several years ago his bully boys raided a home and kept a puppy in it as it burned. Didn’t even let the home owners claim the dogs body for days. Horrible. http://www.phoenixnewtimes.com/2004-08-05/news/dog-day-afternoon/full

Reality TV and the police don’t seem to mix. The policemen tend to act macho in order to impress viewers and someone always gets hurt. Here in Michigan, A&E tried to film some cops making a raid but they ended up shooting a little girl.
