Chispita! Bikini girl’s Chihuahua comes home
Chispita is home!
And by now, maybe, Arlene Corona has put some clothes on.
The woman who donned a bikini to bring attention to her lost dog has been reunited with her Chihuahua, NBC in San Diego reports.
And while the news outlet seems to question why Arlene remained in her bikini, at the intersection, holding a sign seeking the return of her dog for hours after the dog was found, there are multiple explanations for that.
Corona’s mother picked up the white Chihuahua around noon Tuesday at the Carlsbad animal shelter.
As of 3:45 p.m, the bikini-clad Corona was still at the intersection.
Taking a few jabs from Internet commenters about that, Corona – who continued her bikini vigil even after a man who claimed to have the dog texted her photos of his genitals – offered an explanation in a Facebook post:
“My mother had the dog and didn’t want to ruin the surprise while I was doing an interview with Inside Edition. And then she surprised me with my dog! Thank u everyone for your support and prayers!”
Chispita, who had been turned in to the shelter by an unidentified woman, had an ear infection and a couple minor injuries, but otherwise was fine.
Corona — and in today’s world of instant celebrity, something tells me we haven’t heard the last of her — offered the following account of what happened to Chispita on Facebook, which, since trying to figure it out makes my head spin, I’ll just print verbatim:
“It turns out a teacher Ms Bane lured Chispita (she told me) to her car, kept her one day, then gave her to Julia a nurse from the same school, La Jolla Country Day School, Julia took her home for two weeks but there were three students that witnessed what happened, one of them is Daniel. On Saturday Daniel called me reassuring me that Chispita was fine. On Monday I went to that school and met with both the teacher and nurse, Julia the nurse said she knew “nothing” about the owner looking for her dog (yea right!), anyway, Daniel told Julia to turn the dog in, that “it was the right thing to do” after the pressure from other students and teachers, she put Chispita in a box & left her outside a shelter in Carlsbad on Monday morning (the shelter does not operate on Mondays), so, I couldn’t get her until Tuesday after a lot of protocol and $$. Chispita was reunited with Mossa yesterday while Inside Edition were present! Finally our lives are back to “normal”, this past two weeks have been very hard. I’m appalled that a student called me and urged Ms Bane and Julia to return the dog, what a great kid teaching two “adults” a lesson! I love you Daniel!!!”

Something else is going on here… Two ‘adults’ conspired to take her dog, then when convinced to return her, just dropped her off at a shelter??
Nope. I don’t believe that’s the whole storey…

I hate this girl sooo much and her story is fake because I am friends with Mrs. Bane and the nurse, Julia and Daniel.

It’s always great to hear stories like this. Lost dogs being returned to their homes, it warms my heart. And props to Arlene Corona for coming up with a creative way to get peoples attention towards her cause.
