For what it&#039;s worth, When our Pomeranian is in obvious distress (whimpering/crying) while asleep I have made it a practice to gently stroke her and softly tell her that &quot;it&#039;s OK, it&#039;s only a dream&quot;. She does not seem to wake up (It&#039;s hard to tell in the dark of night), but the wimpering stops, and she goes on about her nocturnal business. If, on the other hand, she&#039;s barking in her sleep (a kind of tiny throaty &#039;yip&#039;, I assume that she&#039;s chasing bunnies (or squirrels) and leave her be. Seems to work....]]></description>
