I saw the video-such cruelity to the innocent-scared ass dog. The Police officer should be tried and convicted of murder and
sent to prison Hiding behind his badge-such a coward-justice must be served.
What’s the basterd’s name that shot Chloe?
I want the facts to come out on this-everyone is scrambling, but the truth is it was a lone crazed policeman that didn’t sympathy for a defenseless, terrified animal
who was brutally murdered by this jackass.

This is one of the worst cases of police abuse towards animals that I have seen to date. It’s beyond comprehension that these things go on. They are a threat to society not a help!!!

It is an epidemic and it’s horrible for all sides. I fear the police and avoid them, and a member of my family is in law enforcement. I fear that one day someone fearing he may be a trigger happy thug rather than a caring person he will be harmed. This has to be stopped for everyones sake, especially for the poor innocent animals.

Thugs with badges, with complete immunity under the law to do what they do. Where departmental, municipal, or state laws and regulations fail to regulate the murderous tendencies of these thugs with badges, federal law steps in to grant them utter lack of consequences for their actions. No, the voters didn’t create these legal immunity situations, these legislative actions were done by executive order, at least at the federal level, and at lower levels without public input. BUT the public can and should work tirelessly to put a stop to it.

Until thugs with badges are held accountable the violence will continue and we have already seen how it escalates.

The person who filmed it took a huge risk as most states have now passed laws against any recording of law enforcement action. Be aware that the punishment levied against those convicted of in any way recording abusive police behavior, whether that behavior is against animals OR people, is extremely heavy punishment. The abusive LEO faces no consequences. The person reporting that behavior is often the one going to jail.

Welcome to America, the biggest police state in the world, the currently ruling banana republic governed by thugs with badges and those who hire them to do their increasingly dirty work.

Mr. Woestendiek, you are a Pulitzer-prize winning journalist with impressive credentials. It is long past time for you to tackle, journalistically, what has become an epidemic of cop violence against dogs. There is a rich field to mine in that topic from lack of LEO training to failure (or complete absence) of appropriate psychological evaluation for appropriateness of “personality” for the field of law enforcement. Plus, this horrible taser thing which appears largely to be used indiscriminately and not only against dogs but against the most vulnerable of humans – children, mentally ill, homeless, and even persons claiming all three situations.

There have been dogs shot while their people are holding them. Dogs shot while running away where the shooter claims the dog was “attacking.” Puppies shot while cowering in shrubbery (Des Moines, WA Newfie puppy). The worst situation ever is that none of the officers face any consequences for their actions, and it is a newsworthy exception when a court actually awards damages for the wrongful death by cop of a four-legged, beloved family member.

Please consider doing a series of investigative articles and maybe even a book about this alarming and extremely saddening epidemic of cops murdering dogs without any provocation except the extreme thirst for violence, blood and death that every one of them seems to need to slake.

The cops and the ACO should all be fired! Morons! They had NO reason to do anything to the dog. Supposedly the ACO was sitting on the ground in front of the garage, tossing treats to a dog that wasn’t doing anything but being nervous because a bunch of jacked-up gangster wanna-be ‘cops’ were threatening her.

I hope to hell that the dog’s owner sues the PD for everything she can. Of course, the shithead ‘cops’ will never admit that they were wrong, but I wish a judge would see it differently!
