Teen says he shot pit bull with arrow because it appeared aggressive
An Oklahoma teenager has admitted he shot and killed a pit bull with a bow and arrow and posted a photo of its corpse on Facebook, but says the dog appeared aggressive.
Caisen Green, 18, who had fled his hometown with his mother after outrage over the Facebook post led to threats, was interviewed Tuesday night by Cherokee County Undersheriff Jason Chennault.
Chennault said he will add Green’s statement to his report and deliver it to the District Attorney’s Office today. Prosecutors will then decide whether Green will be charged, the Tahlequah Daily Press reported.
Green told sheriff’s officials that the dog was one of two that wandered onto his family’s property as he was practicing with his bow and arrow.
“The pit and a smaller, non-pit bulldog came into the yard,” said Chennault. “The pit bulldog looked diseased.” Green told Chennault that when he tried to scare the dogs away the pit bull growled and began to move toward him. He said the dog ran about 30 yards after he shot him with an arrow.
Green posted a Facebook photo of the dead pit bull with the message, “For all you Pit lovers out there, here’s what happens when one shows up around my house.”
Lou Hays, who volunteers with the Humane Society of Cherokee County said Green bragged about killing when he was contacted about the post, and didn’t indicate that the animal was causing any trouble .
Hays said HSCC would push for Green to be prosecuted and receive community service at the local shelter.
Green’s post was removed after calls, emails and faxes flooded into Cherokee County authorities over the weekend, many of them demanding he be arrested and expelled from school, some of them making threats.
Chennault said his meeting with Green and his attorney had to be set up at an “undisclosed location” because of the threats made toward Green and his family.

Officer Barney FIFE needs to do some actual police work. The dog was 60 feet away from the kid, it was supposedly being aggressive, so explain exactly HOW the dog got shot in the SIDE? if it was being aggressive and coming for the kid? way to go Barney FIFE just another hickabilly cop showing his lack of intelligence.

it is bullshit on people killing or hurting pitbulls i have a bluenose pit he is the worlds biggest baby he does not acted like a pit is acts like a scared cat he runs fromt the cat and scared of the dark this kids should get alot of jail time and never be able to have a bow or gun stuff plus how does the kid know if the dog was diseased is he a vet no the dog could have got in to something to make him look like that i hate people abuse or hurts animals like this

funny how the judges dismissed it as self defense, yet the post itself shows a crime of hatred. the judge is retarded apparently and so were the police involved. this kid acted out of hate, killed the dog and bragged about it then gave conflicting stories about why. the evidence is clear and the professionals involved need to pull their heads out of their ass.

This boy is my hero! Pitbulls make up 5% of the U.S. dog population but have been responsible for over 50% of all fatal dog attacks for a decade running. Google: list of fatal dog attacks. Half of the attacks were against their owners or household members. What’s worse than this vicious breed is their owners. Statistically, pit owners are 10 times more likely be criminals than other breeds. Kyle boldiszar’s educated input on the discussion helps prove the point that pit owners are pure class. Loser pit owners are the reason pits are the number one breed occupying overwhelmed shelters. They love pits but their irresponsibility is the reason so many get put down. They love to blame the victim when their dog gets out and attacks someone. Respect yourself, your family and your community by not getting a pitbull.

yeah right. So far they have given numerous stories (1) he was “protecting” his siblings, (2) the dog looked “diseased” (3) it was chasing livestock, and now (4) it was aggressive. Clearly he shot it because he is a lowlife scum who gets a kick out of hurting and killing things – ably taught by his redneck idiot family.
