Dr. Phil, Rescue Ink and Paris Hilton

Dr. Phil’s not one of my favorites — nor are most of the others who appeared on his show yesterday — but at least the program brought the scourge of dogfighting to the afternoon TV talk show forefront.

In addition to Rescue Ink and Paris Hilton, the show featured Rob Rogers, former leader of a dogfighting ring who said “animal fighting has nothing to do with violence whatsoever” — even though he admitted to killing a “couple hundred” dogs.

He was such a moron that even Paris Hilton, by comparison, appeared scholarly when she came on the show to promote dog adoptions and said of dogfighters, “I kind of want to punch them in the face.”

Dr. Phil said on his blog that the show was intended to “shine a harsh spotlight on the animal abuse that still plagues our country.

“We’re not only going after people who think it’s perfectly acceptable to leave their pets cramped in cages with little or no water and blatant neglect, we’re going after those professional ‘dogfighters’ who diligently train their pit bulls to fight other pit bulls to the death and every other form of abuse.”

This is awesome I loved the way these guys stood up to the piece of garbage we need more men like these who will not tolerate this kind of abuse. This show is watched by millions I hope it inspires others like me to step up to the plate of life on “animal abuse”

Rescue ink. rocks.

I wonder how many people know that the authorities, who busted Rob Rogers and the others involved, fought multiple dogs themselves during their undercover operation? And that one dog the police matched died two days after the match due to injuries sustained during the fight. Or that all the dogs that were ”saved” during the bust, which numbered in total, with the multiple people arrested, 185 dogs, almost matching the quantity of dogs that Rob put down over his lifetime, in one day, including puppies and two boxers that had nothing to do with the matching that was going on, were all euthanized immediately, in a shelter that often uses the ”heart stick” method to ”euthanize” dogs, a method that often causes an extremely brutal, painful death, so much so that people are looking to have it banned along with gassing. Maybe some of THAT should have been brought to light during the show.

Really? The so-called humanatics who killed all the dogs seized are here to praise.
I would learn a thing or two about these dogs and the treatment they receive from all so violent Rob Rogers before I will trust what a moronic sociopath Dr. Phill has to say about the subject he is as informed as Paris Hilton about dogs in general.
Great post Zoe, as always.

I have been watching Paris Hilton’s BFF. Where do they come across these folks? They are from another planet!

Dr Phil violated a federal law by showing dogs’ fight injuries on TV. Why isn’t he in jail???????

I applaud Rescue Ink for their courage to stand up to the cowards who think that torturing and forcing poor animals to fight to the death is a sport. Perhaps the best punishment for such cretans is to put them in an enclosed space and force them to fight to the death. Just listening to Mr. Rogers speak I sense that this is a man without any conscience and appears not to possess any job skills worth speaking of. It’s obvious the only way such men feel empowered is to dominate helpless creatures.
