Is Rescue Ink breaking up, or “evolving?”

As fearless, outspoken, and in your face as they portray themselves, you’d think the gang at Rescue Ink would be a little more forthcoming about whatever it is that is going on within the organization, where, by some accounts, nearly half of the members — representing God only knows how many tattoos — have pulled out.

Instead, other than a vaguely worded official statement, they’ve left it up to their fans to figure out just who has left, and why.

Despite the continuing success of their National Geographic Channel TV show, and a recently released book, there are reports — mostly on Facebook — that four members have left the organization and the TV show, pretty much in unison, to pursue other interests.

The only official confirmation I could find was a statement by Rescue Ink member Mary Fayet posted on the group’s Facebook page of Joe Panz:

“Rescue Ink is an ever evolving animal rescue organization dedicated to battling animal abuse and neglect and assisting other animal-welfare agencies and shelters do the same. With much regret, we announce that some participants of Rescue Ink have chosen to depart the organization and as such we wish these departing members the best of luck in their future endeavors and thank them for their countless hours of dedication promoting the mission of Rescue Ink.

“Please be assured, however, that Rescue Ink, thanks to our founding members, countless dedicated recruits and volunteers’ remains stronger than ever and will continue to promote the Rescue Ink mission.”

The statement doesn’t say who has left. But, from what I can gather from the Facebook pages of Rescue Ink’s original members at least four — Eric, Angel, Robert and Batso — have departed.

Batso Maccharoli reports on his Facebook page: “THE INK OF RESCUE INK, THE ELDEST AND ORIGINAL MEMBER BATSO, HAS FLOWN THE COOP. I have decided to no longer be affiliated with Rescue Ink. I will continue to keep balance and harmony in my life by doing what I love most – helping.”

Rescue Ink, a nonprofit animal rescue organization based in Long Island, formed officially in 2008, and their TV show, “Rescue Ink: Unleashed,” premiered last year.

Evolving, for sure. I was at their monthly meetup at Dugan’s a few nights ago and it was well attended. There were quite a few new faces and new tattoos there. If there was any discord, it didn’t show on the faces of Ant, Joe or Johhny-O.

Love the show. Is there a big, diverse audience out there?? Such big-hearted bikers. Dogs need these guys!…or at least, guys just like ’em. I hope that their missions and activities live on, whether or not televised. I will settle for blogs on their successes.

These Guys stink and always did. Dirty dealing from the get go. They did it all for the show. They never accomplished anything but benefitting themselves. Dont be so desperate to find a hero. If you like Animals help a real established group. Theses guys from start to now stink. Ditry dealing scammers. Do not be taken advantage og. Thank goodness it is all starting to crumble for them.

Has anyone here heard of Guardians of Rescue? I gave them one of my pups out of my dogs litter. Thet re-assured me that the founder came from Rescue Ink & she was placed in a good home. I, being a concerned “grandparent” want to know that she is in fact in good care. If anyone has any info, please PLEASE contact me.
Many sincere thanks.

Since 1992, there has been only one organization in NYC who is truly hands on rescue in the most dangerous areas of NYC. To learn more or to make a donation please visit Spay Neuter Intervention Project (SNIP) on Facebook

Rescue Ink is as strong as ever. They are still rescuing and giving the best care to the animals. There might be a few original faces missing but there are also some new, fully committed faces too.

The group is dirty. Joe “Panz” Panzarella is a known associate of the Gambino crime family in Queens & was indicted for money laundering & extortion in 2009. That’s why they never got back on TV. What better way to launder money than to start a non profit. Now they are taking over the Long Beach Animal shelter so they can ask for more donations. They have never run a shelter in their lives. They just got rid of their second group of guys including Scott, Jordan, Eric Bellows & Mary Fayett. They left their “mascot” Rebel with Eric upstate along with 6 ther dogs they “rescued” & now he’s stuck trying to feed & house over 50 dogs. Just google Joesph Panzarella & as they say “you never quit the mob”

You should be very careful. They like to threaten people with violence who post negative comments about them. Take it from one who knows.

To the folks who think Rescue Ink was in it for the money you are so wrong! They have a passion for helping animals that you cannot fake it shows in there eyes and in there actions and the good things they do for animals. I volunteer for a rescue group and we have had long time members leave after years of helping out for various reasons moving, a new job with more responsibility, the toll of seeing hurt animals everyday, etc many reasons. Rescue Ink is a great group give them the respect they deserve:)

Poor Rescue ink, need a fundraiser to rebuild? How about reading your contract with the City of Long Beach where they are responsible for THEIR building. No wonder the roof stood up in the storm. LONG BEACH PAID FOR IT!!!! Why are you asking for donations when the city pays all your bills for the buliding & the animals including vet bills. You are only responsible for feeding the 9 animals you have. SCAMMERS!!!!
